THE LLK STORY
Background
In late March 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in school closures across the world. While several countries smoothly transitioned into online learning, this was a more difficult feat for nations that didn't have significant online learning infrastructure. As a result, students, parents and teachers not only struggled to find resources but also found it difficult to filter through existing content to identify resources that aligned with individual learning and curriculum needs.

Hence, our champions came together to create a central source of educational content.

Why is it called Let's Learn Kenya

The short answer is because our two champions are Kenyans who initially started the initiative as a means to help their local communities.

Before we touched global recognition, the name had already been widely accepted by everyone...

and so it just stuck around as ''Let's Learn Kenya''

So what is the next level?

As we sieved through existing content and aligned it with specific curricula, we realised that there were gaps which needed to be filled in order to create a complete catalogue of resources.
This is where our partnership with MoJo Africa allowed us to take the initiative one step further.

Hence, we train volunteers on the use of mobile technology for creation and editing of educational videos from the comfort of their homes thus enabling the community to fill in any gaps in our catalogue.
